(1)The company is pleased to announce that we have invited several members of our experienced temporary and casual staff to become permanent employees.
a big red car 「一部紅色大車」。
2.No direct flights are available from Atlanta to Calgary International airport,
although major airlines offer good connections through Chicago,Denver or Houston.
[None
3.Thanks to careful planning, the installation of the new equipment did not disrupt or affect the plan's activities.
可數名詞單數一定要有冠詞或特定詞,例如: a car、the car、my car,不然就要用複數 cars。
(4)It is important that managers draw in the best sales people to sell the products.
[to 不行嗎?]
It is important to managers 「對經理們來說是重要的」,那 managers 是介係詞 to 的受詞,如此一來,動詞 draw 的主詞是哪個呢?
所以這裡要用 that 來帶一個子句,managers 是 draw 的主詞,在文法上,it 是虛主詞,managers draw in the best sales people to sell the products 才是真正的主詞,意思是:「經理人員帶進最好的銷售人員來賣產品這件事是很重要的。」
(5) Apple,Inc.warrants that the products conform to industry standards specified below and will be free from defects in materials.
You go and see him.
如果用 conforming 那 products 就沒有動詞,並且後面的對等連接詞 and,變成連接「分詞 and 動詞」conforming and will be,這樣就不對等,錯了。
