（法新社東京28日電） 日本政府今天證實，參議院選舉定於7月21日。部分民調顯示，首相安倍晉三所屬的自由民主黨有望大勝，以助安倍推動急需的經濟改革。

日本在召開內閣會議後宣布，參議院一半議席將於7月21日舉行改選。參議院共有242席。

正式競選活動將在7月4日開跑。這場選舉將是安倍去年12月上任、承諾讓日本擺脫15年通貨緊縮以來，第1場探測全國民心的考驗。日本是全球第3大經濟體。

保守派自民黨在23日東京都議員選舉中贏得壓倒性勝利，顯示東京選民力挺所謂的「安倍經濟學」。
