542旅旅長沈威志，是洪仲丘案裡涉案層級最高的軍官，但沈威志老家的鄰居說，他們認識沈威志多年，認為他行事正派，不可能會害人，而我們也獨家找到沈威志哥哥，但面對鏡頭，家屬低調地說，沈威志回家都很少談到當兵的事，所以他們也不知道部隊裡發生這麼大的事。

542旅長沈威志哥哥：「他都不太會說，我們也不太了解。」記者：「那你平常對弟弟的了解，他有可能會做這樣的事嗎？」542旅長沈威志哥哥：「這個我不了解啦，沒有必要再追究了啦。」記者：「他回家都不會聊軍中的事嗎？」542旅長沈威志哥哥：「怎麼可能會去說這個，我弟弟回家從來不會談這個，因為他跟我們說也沒用。」
