強颱摧殘菲國中部　官員估萬人死

【林奐成／綜合外電報導】強颱海燕侵襲菲律賓中部，一名當地總警司今天向路透表示，估計雷伊泰省（Leyte）有至少一萬居民死於這場天災。
 
路透報導，海燕是菲律賓史上，威力最強大的登陸颱風之一，風雨摧殘雷伊泰省，吞噬沿海城鎮，約有7成至8成的地區受災。當地總警司索里亞（Elmer Soria）稱，昨晚與省長及其他官員開會，省長估有一萬人遇難。
