關於 ASUS 筆電升級硬碟容量的問題

事情是這樣的~~
我有一台 6 年前購買的 ASUS 筆電,
型號是 A8Fm,
當時原廠配備的是 120 GB 的硬碟(SATA 1),
最近這顆硬碟故障了,
如果想直接升級現在市面上的 500 GB 硬碟(SATA 2),
是否能支援這麼大的容量呢？

ps.
詢問華碩客服人員,
得到的答案是「以當時的時空背景, 只能往上一階支援 160 GB 容量」,
不過說真的,
現在想要在市面(例如： 光華商場、NOVA...)上能買到 160 GB 容量的全新硬碟簡直是.....天方夜譚！ ^^
