以色列總理提名新央行總裁

以色列政府官員24日證實，總理內唐亞胡（Benjamin Netanyahu）已提名備受尊崇的銀行家弗蘭克爾（Jacob Frenkel）出任央行總裁。

70歲的弗蘭克爾目前是摩根大通（JPMorgan Chase）國際部門董事長，1991至2000年間曾擔任以色列央行總裁，因成功降低以國的高通膨率而備受讚譽。這項提名須獲內閣批准，預料不太可能面臨強烈反對。

以色列現任央行總裁費雪（Stanley Fischer）將於本月底卸任。報導指出，費雪屬意的繼任人選是副總裁佛勒格（Karnit Flug）。
