南投縣政府舉辦2013年日月潭國際萬人泳渡嘉年華活動已於9月8日成功圓滿落幕，泳渡前後對於日月潭水質影響與否頗受各界關注，南投縣政府環保局更不敢掉以輕心，在活動期間針對日月潭周圍、各列管事業及淨水廠進行前、中、後水質採樣檢測，經檢驗結果水質均符合飲用水水源水質及放流水標準。

為維護日月潭泳渡期間水體水質，環保局日前增加稽查頻率採不定期(平日及假日針對列管事業)稽查採樣作業，計稽查26家次、潭水採樣6點次及淨水廠採樣6點次，經採樣檢測結果皆符合放流水及飲用水水源水質標準。

環保局長方信雄表示，日月潭周圍之列管事業及日管處所納管處理之民生生活污水，仍是日月潭廢水最主要的來源，為維護日月潭水質，環保局後續將持續稽查、採樣，以勤查重罰方式，為杜絕污染情事之發生，環保局再次呼籲業者應為自身生活環境品質多用一份心，以留住南投縣的好山好水。
