根據 Apple 內部文件，Apple 將擴大 iPhone 5 的海外保固，讓消費者可以在海外維修。

根據澳洲部落客 Sonny Dickson 所流出的 Apple 內部文件截圖來看，Apple 將擴大 iPhone 5 的海外旅行保固，讓消費者在出國旅行手機損壞時，可以在當地更換新機。

Apple 在內部文件指出，從 2013 年 9 月 27 日開始，如果 iPhone 5 的消費者出國時需要維修服務時，可以在當地更換相同型號的手機，要是當地未提供相同型號的 iPhone 5 則無法更換。

而在 Apple 的隨附列表中，我們可以看到 iPhone 5 全球發售地區的適用情形。從表格來判斷，要是在美國購買的 iPhone 5 為和台灣相同的 A1429（GSM）型號，則可以在台灣維修，而其他型號則無法在台灣更換。而台灣的 iPhone 5 也可以在除了巴西以外的國家更換新機。
