美財部：違約風險危及美國經濟

紐約時報3日報導，美國財政部3日發表報告說，舉債上限的僵局可能使信用市場凍結、美元下跌且利率急劇上升，後果極為嚴重，可能引發「與2008年類似或更嚴重的金融危機及衰退」。

財政部長陸伍在一份聲明中呼籲國會議員採取行動，他說：「如各位在兩年前所見，針對我們國家是否償債的長期不確定，正損害我們的經濟。把調高舉債上限的時間延到最後一分鐘，是美國經濟不需要之事，它會傷害美國家庭及企業。」
