聯合國：菲1/3稻作區遭掃平，急需稻種

聯合國農糧組織 (FAO)19日指出，「海燕」颱風掃平了菲律賓三分之一的稻米栽種區，並呼籲對需要稻種的農民給予「緊急援助」。

FAO指出，「受災最嚴重的地區，占菲律賓稻米總產量的三分之一。數十萬菲律賓稻農栽種的稻作都被颱風摧毀，需要緊急援助，才能在目前的栽種期結束之前播下新種。」

FAO表示，當海燕颱風來襲時，第一季的稻作仍在收穫期間，因而受到重創，同時也打亂了第二季稻作的播種作業。同時許多米倉及存米也被颱風摧毀。
