林芯儀中視《超級星光大道３》出道，又轉戰浙江衛視《中國好聲音２》，剛到大陸比賽時，常因想家偷哭，對大陸用語陌生，也鬧出不少笑話，工作人員對她說「芯儀，妳好二啊」，她以為說她肚子餓，傻回「我不餓啊」，後來才知道「二」是指傻氣可愛。

她在新環境怕生，擔心說錯話，跟工作人員自我介紹也不敢說來自台灣，只說台北，怕觸及大陸人的敏感神經，「後來發現我想太多，他們根本不介意。」

她雖唱了電視劇《光陰的故事》片尾曲〈回到過去〉，但仍無法發片，自嘲「這就是歌紅人不紅」。參加《好聲音２》時，她曾掙扎：「我其實不適合比賽，也怕被定型，後來覺得去參加可以開拓眼界。不過那應該是我最後一次參加比賽了。」
