克里夫蘭騎士隊「新主」厄文(Kyrie Irving)，在1日與溜馬之戰不慎弄傷膝蓋，賽後厄文還一度講出自己膝蓋內有東西「爆開」的驚悚言論，不過在經過核磁共振檢查後，證明只是虛驚一場。

厄文1日與溜馬之戰第三節，在一次切入過程中不慎弄傷左膝，賽後厄文在受訪時表示，「我覺得最壞的狀況發生了，我感覺到有東西在我膝蓋裡爆開！」

這樣的言論一傳出後，讓不少人開始擔心，厄文是否與羅斯(Derrick Rose)、衛斯布魯克(Russell Westbrook)或是朗多(Rajon Rondo)等聯盟頂尖控球後衛一樣，將飽受嚴重的膝傷摧殘。

不過根據美國媒體2日報導，在經過騎士球團安排進行核磁共振檢查後，厄文的左膝僅是挫傷，並未有太嚴重的傷勢出現，而騎士球團目前也將他列入逐日觀察名單中，下一場騎士與魔術之戰是否上場，還無法確定。

對於自己的「爆開」言論僅是虛驚一場，厄文也在自己的推特上表示，「可怕的一刻，不過我會很好，感謝每個支持我並關心我的人。」
