教宗獲同志雜誌選為「年度人物」

天主教教宗方濟各不久前才被美國「時代雜誌」選為2013年的全球「風雲人物」，17日又被美國同志雜誌Advocate選為「年度人物」，理由是彰顯教宗對同志社會的貢獻，並指出「他是2013年為女同性戀者、男同性戀者、雙性戀者與跨性別者（LGBT）請命的最具影響力之個人」。

這可能是一項出人意料的選擇，因為教會通常與LGBT社會的立場相衝突。這份網路雜誌在宣布今年的「年度人物」為教宗時，並指出「儘管2013年是追求進步婚姻卓然有成的一年，但人們也該記得一位男性典範」。
