《機動警察》真人電影將使用真正的機器人「KURATAS」在劇中演出

　　預計在今（2014）年 4 月 5 日上映第一章的《機動警察》真人版電影，公布了將會使用現實中存在的機器人「KURATAS」在電影中登場的消息。

　　「KURATAS」是由現代藝術家的 倉田光吾郎、負責開發機器人介面的 吉崎航以及日本水道橋重工共同開發製作。當初水道橋重工以「巨大機器人就該由日本製作。然後巨大機器人的時代總有一天會到來」的理念、花費約 2 年時間製作出了這台機器人。機器人官方建議售價約為 135

萬美金（台幣約 4050 萬元），購買者可再選配各式配備搭載在機器人身上。

　　當初《機動警察》真人版電影製作團隊看見「KURATAS」時，表示：「這台可以稱做是真正的『LABOR』」並向他們協商希望能讓「KURATAS」在電影中演出，而水道橋重工也爽快答應。

　　在電影中 KURATAS 會將手上可發射 BB 彈的格林機槍替換成劇中的原創刀刃。擔任監督的押井守也表示：「讓『KURATAS』在劇中演出的話，也不需要使用 CG 動畫或者是道具來呈現機器人了」。
