亞馬遜創辦人2.5億美元買下華盛頓郵報

華盛頓郵報公司(The Washington Post Co.)5日宣布，亞馬遜公司(Amazon.com)創辦人貝佐斯(Jeff Bezos)以2億5千萬美元，買下華盛頓郵報(The Washington Post)和旗下其它媒體。

華郵公司表示，貝佐斯是以個人身份進行這項交易，亞馬遜公司並未包含在內。

華盛頓郵報總裁兼執行長葛拉漢(Donald Graham)稱讚貝佐斯是好的新主人。他說，這項出售決定是在經歷了數年報紙工業變化後做成的。

華盛頓郵報公司旗下除了華盛頓郵報之外，還包括卡普蘭(Kaplan)教育事業以及數家電視台。未來將會變更名稱，但目前還不知道新名字為何。

貝佐斯則發表聲明表示，他非常了解華盛頓郵報在華盛頓地區的重要性，他並強調，華郵的價值不會改變。

除了亞馬遜之外，貝佐斯也經營了一家太空旅遊的公司。他在2000年創立「藍色起源」(Blue Origin)，研發垂直起飛和降落的火箭船，希望未來能搭載乘客到太空。

貝佐斯被富比世列為世界科技第三大富豪，資產總值達252億美元。他也曾被時代雜誌(Time magazine)選為1999年的年度風雲人物(Person of the Year)。
