怎麼會有"兩個動詞"連在一起?另外句中was可省略嗎?

I knew that the temple was built in 1884.
這句話沒錯
was不能省略
這句話是被動語態
temple寺廟是被建造
不能主動建造
所以必須be動詞(was)+pp過去分詞(built)

built在這裡是過去分詞

build現在式
built過去試
built過去分詞

在英文中
無生命的東西
像這句-->temple寺廟
要用被動
