雷霆一度在16分領先的情況下，險些遭逆轉，最終以101比98驚險過關，收下6連勝，追平前身超音速在1993-94年，創下的隊史開季主場12連勝紀錄。

手感正火燙的雷霆，面對在東南組墊底的魔術，「雷帝」Kevin Durant開場後手感欠佳，第一節4投僅1中、得3分，不過，雷霆首節仍以28比22略佔優勢。

暖機完畢的Durant，第二節5投4中、單節包辦11分，Jameer Nelson在半場結束前罰球、三分皆命中，將比數追至49比56，7分差。

下半場，鎂光燈的焦點依舊在Durant身上，第三節個人再追加11分，將雷霆的領先擴大到雙位數，不過，Durant在第四節失去手感，魔術趁勢打出一波8比0攻勢。

比賽剩下3分09秒，雷霆還以100比88領先，但這也是雷霆最後一次投籃命中，魔術在剩下時間大舉反撲，在Maurice Harkless爆扣後，魔術僅以98比100落後。

最後13秒，Glen Davis三分球出手沒進，Nikola Vucevic搶下進攻籃板後，Serge Ibaka賞了Vucevic火鍋，剩下時間被消耗光，雷霆驚險過關。

Durant拿下28分9籃板5助攻，Russell Westbrook進帳20分12籃板6助攻，替補上陣的Jeremy Lamb、Reggie Jackson各有16、10分貢獻。

吞下2連敗的魔術，包辦25分的Arron Afflalo表現最佳，Vucevic攻下13分16籃板，Victor Oladipo、Jameer Nelson合力貢獻28分。
