【綜合報導】高齡95歲的南非前總統曼德拉(Nelson Mandela)，今年6月因為肺部感染住進醫院後，雖多次傳出情況改善，但今天(24日)南非總統府在一份正式的聲明中表示，曼德拉的病況仍常不穩定，但他展現出強韌的求生意志，醫療團隊仍須全力協助穩定病況。

之前南非總統祖馬(Jacob Zuma)對外表示，曼德拉的病情「仍危殆但已穩定」(still critical but stable)，而最新的聲明中則加入了「經常變得不穩定」(becomes "unstable" sometimes)，醫師已經盡了全力，希望讓曼德拉能盡量感到舒適。本月9日，曼德拉的女兒才對外表示他已經可以坐起來了，這是曼德拉入院兩個多月以來傳出的最好消息。
