歐巴馬提名葉倫 促性別平衡

（法新社華盛頓9日電） 獲美國總統歐巴馬提名接任聯邦準備理事會主席的葉連（Janet Yellen），可望成為第1位執掌全球最高決策職之一的女性。

包括正副總統及最高法院首席大法官在內，還有不少美國政府高階職位從未有女性入主，這項提名可望將聯準會主席從這份名單中劃去。

這是首次有女性獲提名出任美國央行總裁，但這稱不上創舉。

CentralBankNews.info統計，全球大約180位央行總裁當中，共有14位女性。

俄羅斯、非洲的喀麥隆、波札那以及拉丁美洲的阿根廷、宏都拉斯、薩爾瓦多都曾任命女性出任央行總裁。

美國女性要到1978年才躋身央行決策圈。當年提特斯（Nancy Teeters）踏入聯準會，及聯邦公開市場委員會（FOMC）的陽剛世界。

之後約12名女性進入聯準會，擔任理事或12家地方儲備銀行總裁。

葉連兩者都做過。她1994-97年當過理事，2004-10年擔任舊金山聯邦準備銀行總裁，之後擔任聯準會副主席。

但美國央行主要還是男人的天下。聯準會女性理事杜克（Elizabeth Duke）8月底辭職；另一位女性理事拉斯金（Sarah Raskin）即將轉往財政部，剩下的女性只有葉連、聯準會堪薩斯分部的喬治（Esther George）、克里夫蘭分部的皮亞納托（Sandra Pianalto）。

全國婦女組織（National Organization forWomen）呼籲歐巴馬支持葉連時，在網站上說：「撇開性別，葉連顯然是最適合這個職位的人選。」

「但除此之外，她如果成為首位聯準會女主席，將改善總統幕僚核心的性別平衡，而這是總統第2個任期完全忽略的事。」（譯者：中央社樂羽嘉）
