美財政部推出馬年紅包

為慶祝即將來臨的中國馬年，美國財政部推出馬年紅包，裡面包有序號為8888開頭的一塊錢美鈔。

總計88,888個紅包4日開賣，上頭印有新年賀語及馬匹圖案，裡面裝有序號為8888開頭的1美元鈔票，取華人喜愛的「發」諧音，「8」向來被視為吉祥數字。

每個紅包連同裡面的鈔票售價5.95美元，購買50個以上則降價至每個4.5 美元，買1,000個以上單價更降至3.95美元。

財政部鑄印局（BEP）退休主管王程（音譯）說，年度幸運紅包很搶手，特別是12生肖中最受歡迎的年份時，像是去年的龍年紅包就在一周內售罄。他說：「馬年也很吉利，有馬到成功的意思。」
