【姚瑞宸／綜合報導】洋基隊41歲資深投手佩提特(Andy Pettitte)大聯盟生涯最後1次在洋基球場出賽，先發7局只被擊出2支安打失2分，守護神李維拉(Mariano Rivera)後援1.2局0失分，但洋基1比2輸給巨人，使洋基在美聯外卡排行上落後第2名的印地安人4.5場，在球季僅剩6場比賽狀況下，晉級季後賽幾近絕望。
佩提特前5局投出小型的無安打比賽，第6局被巨人隊菜鳥恩俊安札(Ehire Adrianza)擊出大聯盟生涯的第1支全壘打，第8局被「功夫熊貓」山多瓦(Pablo Sandoval)敲出二壘安打後退場，但後援投手羅伯森(David Robertson)又被阿布瑞尤(Tony Abreu)擊出安打造成失分，使佩提特的最後一次出賽吞下本季第11敗。
