想要免費支票帳戶？找credit union即可

大銀行當今狠削無條件的免費支票帳戶，幾乎已到「絕跡」地步，幸而大多數信貸聯盟(credit union)仍為消費者提供這種帳戶。「Bankrate.com」向50家規模最大信貸聯盟所做的調查顯示，約72%信貸聯盟提供免費帳戶，不附加條件。

「Bankrate.com」首席金融分析家麥克布萊德 (Greg McBride)說：「大多數美國民眾還是可以獲得免費支票帳戶，只要到信貸聯盟去找即可。」

不過，即使享有免費支票帳戶，仍可能面臨其他收費，像是透支存款或使用系統外的自動櫃員機 (ATM)。但即使收費，信貸聯盟的費用也比銀行低。平均而言，信貸聯盟的透支費為26.96元，銀行則收取32.20元。信貸聯盟最常見的收費是，客戶使用系統外的ATM，通常收費一元或1.50元。銀行則收費二元。
