監察委員高鳳仙及劉玉山於十八日赴台中港自由貿易港區實地巡察，由財政部關務署台中關、行政院農業委員會動植物防疫檢疫局台中分局台中港檢疫站、台灣港務公司台中分公司分別專案報告有關自由貿易港區關務、檢疫及營運狀況；並親至港區門哨實地勘查自動化門哨系統通關便捷措施。高、劉二位委員期許各單位攜手合作，促使自由經濟示範區法案儘速通過，俾自由貿易港區業務更加蓬勃發展。聽取簡報後，對免稅商店管理情形、自由港區管制貨品進儲及檢疫程序、自由經濟示範區法制進展、原拜耳台中港投資用地利用情形、兩岸往來人貨所佔比重等問題提出詢問，由相關單位逐一回覆。
